In my May Newsletter, I showcased a stunning resort located in Playa del Carmen called La Casa de La Playa. I realized that not everyone may know what to do in Playa del Carmen, Mexico so I thought I would make a post which details the perfect week there while staying at La Casa de La Playa.
First, Playa del Carmen is known for its relaxing getaways which is why the resort here is perfect. It puts a focus on relaxation such as massages, but you can spend the day just chilling around the resort. Beginning with your room, you can start the morning with coffee in the hammock. When you get hot, you can take a dip in your personal private pool located just under the hammock. When you are ready to emerge from your room, take a trip to the restaurants for some food. After that, it is time to start drinking. With a swim up bar right next to a 131 foot (40m) infinity pool which extends out into the sea, you can truly spend the entire day here.
The perfect vacation is never complete without an excursion or two. Playa del Carmen is about a 3 hour drive to Chitchen Itza, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. While this makes for a long day, you are already in Mexico, so why not go take a picture with an incredible monument?
Another excursion you can take is a trip to Cozumel. You can take the ferry and spend the day snorkeling, diving, or relaxing on the breathtaking beaches
If you are like me, that means you enjoy going into town at least one day on vacation. An excellent outing would be to explore Fifth Avenue (La Quinta), which offers tons of restaurants, bars, and entertainment. It is also a great place for souvenirs and somewhere to go and sit for awhile and people watch.
La Casa de La Playa is the perfect getaway for couples, whether they are on their honeymoon or just want to get away, it focuses on being much less stressful and not wanting to go back to daily life. There are endless possibilities of things to do in Playa del Carmen, but this is my ideal itinerary.
